I will not pick Maya...  I will not pick Maya...

Flora Reinhold

...Okay, I'm going to go with Flora Reinhold from the Professor Layton series.  When she was first introduced in Professor Layton and the Curious Village, I was indifferent towards her.  She had a very bland personality, and even though the plot around her was somewhat interesting, she as a character was not.

In disguise, yo.

Then, in the Diabolical Box, she started to show me just how annoying she could be, shoehorning herself in the plot where she didn't belong. I'm not saying that because the series should be all about Layton and Luke, I'm saying that because her reasons for being there felt unnatural, and it only got worse the more she hung around.  Not that all the blame should be on her--the writers were the ones who shoehorned her in there, but still she annoyed me.

They're surprised because they see Flora in the rearview mirror

And then she decided to shoehorn herself into the Unwound Future.  Not only that, someone decided to not only allow her to answer puzzles, but give her the most irritatingly high pitched, faux-British accent known to man.  At first I was like:

I'm going to pretend to think

And then I was like:

Oh no...

Flora, honey, please do everyone a favor and go away.  Or find some reason for you to tag along other than you feel like being a brat.  There's a reason Layton doesn't bring you along.

As I don't know the characters in this series very well, I couldn't predict this answer. Darn.

But anyway, I love reading your responses to this. Highlight of my internet over-loaded day! :)
