Going pro

The last couple day's I've been debating whether or not to upgrade my LJ to the paid LJ, but I'm not sure; I'm still on the fence about the whole thing.  On the one hand I've definitely been using LJ more than I have since I ever got this account, but on the other hand I  know there's the possibility that I may walk away from LJ tomorrow b/c i know myself and I tend to be fickle (I really hope I don't walk away from LJ, but I'm just saying).  The idea of getting 30 icons is nice, as is being able to edit your comments.

Does anyone on my flist have a paid account?  Is it worth it?  Should I get one or no?

I do! I pretty much only got it for the icons and the ability to edit comments, but there are other benefits. Not getting ads is one. I figured I'd been here for so long, at least 8 years, that I should just buckle down and get one.

Well I have adblock on my firefox, so I don't see the ads, but I didn't know there were other benefits. I'll have to look into it more. I probably will get it after my next paycheck or so.

I went paid a few years ago and haven't looked back. Although the features have changed (when I went paid, custom mood themes were paid only) in general, you get more out of LJ: more customization, more you can do, and as mentioned, no annoying ads to deal with. Plus, the price isn't too bad if you pay year to year, and then it's set for twelve months if there are times you go off and come back on.

I should look into it some more, because I'm definitely intrigued. And it's what, 19.95 a year? That's not too bad.

I got a paid account as a gift from a friend, and I will definitely pay to keep it when the time comes. It's a joy to have so many more icons, and I love it how I can edit my comments if I make typos or if my HTML sucks. I haven't really used any of the other features.

I feel that way about my HTML, especially in comments. I hate having to delete and re-comment. I'm definitely going to look into it some more, and maybe get it when I get my next paycheck.
