Game Replay

I'm probably the only RPG fan in the world who has access to a PS3 (and/or XBox) and is WILLINGLY not playing FFXIII right now.  Personally I didn't feel the need to drag my PS3 home with me for one week, plus I never beat a FF game anyway, so what's the point of grabbing it right away?  I'll just hold out until next week and become a pokemon trainer.

So instead of playing FFXIII, I've decided to replay GS/PW4, aka Apollo Justice: Attorney at Law.  I borderline prefer this game to the other PW games (blasphemy, I know), but that's only b/c I prefer the way these characters all interact with each other (the main characters at least).  I LIKE the fact that not everyone is out to get Apollo, that the Detective is somewhat competant, and that Phoenix Wright is borderline one of the scariest people I've ever met, and that him and Trucy combined are the greatest con team of all time.  Plus I WAY prefer Trucy over Maya (Trucy actually DOES something--she's smart and she actually CARES about the investigation--Maya only cared about what shiny/interesting thing popped in front of her at the time [or hamburgers/hot dogs]).

I breezed through the first case, only getting hung up on one of the parts (probably b/c I knew about the perceive feature and was trying to use it before it was introduced), and now I'm on Day 2 of the second case, finishing up the investigation part.  Considering I haven't touched the PW games in easily 2 years, I'm surprised at just how much I remember--what I need to find, what items provide amusing dialogue, etc.

Playing it again is also inspiring me to make more animated icons of the AJ characters for myself.  That just requires me to be not lazy... (like that will happen).  In all seriousness, though, I need more than 4 LJ icons.

Ace Attorney Investigations

On Tuesday, I officially beat Ace Attorney Investigations.  I tried to beat it Monday night, but that last cross-examination took forever, and I needed to go to class in the morning.  So yeah, I beat it Tuesday.  And let me tell you, that was the first game that I was desperate to beat, but didn't want to end.  I loved it that much.  I have to admit, for a game that I was so lukewarm about coming into, I was completely and utterly into by the end of it.  In fact, it's inspired me to replay pretty much all of them.  In fact, if I wasn't trying to beat No More Heroes 2 at the moment, I would either be replaying Apollo Justice or the original Phoenix Wright game right now.

Ace Attorney Investigations

As of 5 minutes ago, I'm officially on the last case of the game.  It's been a really fun ride.  Like I said in my previous mini-rant about AAI, it took me a little while to warm up to it, but now it's become one of the most fun PW games I've ever played.  This, however, doesn't make it better, simply enjoyable.  I miss my Feenie (and Apollo), but having Edgey around is a wonderful thing.  All of the characters, with the exception of maybe Cammy (and the Amano's) I've found to be awesome.  Granted, Capcom clearly ran out of names by case 4, but the names aside the characters are awesome.  I'm really liking Lang and his relationship with Shih-Na, even if Shih-Na had about 8 lines.

Ace Attorney Investigations

Since I got off from work yesterday, I've been pretty much playing the new Phoenix Wright game, Ace Attorney Investigations, Miles Edgeworth.  I've always been a huge fan of Edgeworth and the fact that I can play as him (for more than half a case at least), was incredibly appealing.  It took me a while to warm up to the game (it didn't feel like a PW game at first), but since I have I've been in full-on fangirl mode.  I give major props to whoever designed this game, as there are easter eggs galore for hardcore fans of the series.  I'm going to list some, but none of them (at least to me) are considered spoilers, as most are in the background, and I won't say where they are.  And just to be extra safe...  Here's an LJ cut.
