Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes.
I was originally going to go with Final Fantasy on this one, but decided to change it at the last minute. Assassins Creed figured out how to properly put a cut scene in a story. They enter fluidly, and are to the point. There’s no Metal Gear Solid-esque scene going on for hours here. They use them to further the plot to where Altair or Ezio (or rather you, the player) need to go, and at the same time try to either entertain or inform us. Sometimes (in the case of the bro hug scene), both.

Besides, it gets props for the Mario Bros. reference and instantly making Mario awesome.

Day 17 - Favorite antagonist.

This one is a bit of an odd choice for me.  I didn’t particularly like Justice for All as a whole, and I really didn’t like this case the first play through.  However, the more I thought about it, the more Matt stuck out in my head.

When you first start playing the game, he’s this foolish airhead who seemed to get in waaaay over his head.  And then all of a sudden he does this:

And he becomes a cognac drinking supervillain.  It completely blindsided me when I was playing.

But not only that, Engarde was a damn good villain.  He manipulated the evidence, manipulated the people around him, and if it wasn’t for Edgey having a sudden change of heart about what a prosecutor should do, he would have gotten away with it.  Thankfully, good won out in the end, and Phoenix lost his only case.

Day 18 - Favorite protagonist

I think this one’s fairly obvious. Ezio is one of the most dynamic character I’ve come across in a while, and I fell for him instantly. What’s even more to love is that you don’t just spend one little story with him, no, you get to watch him live his life.

Watch him mature from young playboy to middle-aged leader of the assassin’s brotherhood. You see him make mistakes and learn from them.

You see him love. You see him mourn.

You see him make alliances and friends.

And most importantly—you see him get the revenge he so desperately seeks.

It’s incredibly satisfying to go through a journey, and even more to see him grow up. It’s almost like being a parent without any of the annoying parts.

Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.

This might be cheating, but I’m going with the Marvel Universe. Though, if I did live there, I’d make sure to live in like Iowa, as nothing bad ever happens to the Midwest.

He really was. And I didn't realize it until trying to pick someone for the list.
